  28. on Linux?  And the log you are referring to is the session log?

  33. Normally -- i.e. on full-duplex connections with remote echoing -- the 
  34. session log does not record passwords because the remote side does not
  35. echo them.  Passwords would only be recorded in the session if (a) they
  36. are echoed remotely (a bad practice), or (b) if you have a half-duplex
  37. local-echo connection.
